What is Malonic acid?

Answer

Malonic acid is a Colourless crystals soluble in alcohol and water manufactured by heating a solution of sodium cyanoethanoate with NaOH until no more ammonia evolved. Decomposes above 140°C to form acetic acid. Exters are used in organic synthesis.
