Quality or Timber of Sound is the characteristic of sound waves that enables us to distinguish between two notes of the same pitch and intensity but sounded by two different instruments. Quality, like loudness and pitch is a subjective quantity. It depends upon the resultant waveform that is a subjective quantity.
