Historical Approach to Matter – Matter is composed of small indivisible particle called ‘a-tomio’ (meaning indivisible) given by a Greek philosopher, Domocritus in 460-370 BC. The first law about matter
is given Lavoisier (law of conservation of mass) in 1785. Afterward, there was further development in 1799 (law of constant composition-Joseph Proust); in 1803 (law of multiple proportion-John Dalton).
