Limitations of Arrhenius Theory…

Limitations of Arrhenius Theory – There are limitations of Arrhenius theory:
(i) Limited to aqueous solution only.
(ii) It cannot be applied to those compounds which does not contain free H+ and OH ions.
(iii) This theory fails to explain the properties of acids and bases in any solvents )like benzene or acetone) or gases, other than water.
