Halogenation in Alkanes…
Alkanes can undergo halogenation, which is the reaction of alkanes with halogens in the presence of light or heat. The halogen replaces one or more hydrogen atoms in the alkane to form a haloalkane. The degree of substitution depends on the number of hydrogen atoms available for substitution.
