Uses of Ethanol
(i) As an antiseptic in form of rectified spirit, solvent for paints, lacquers, dye, cosmetic and cough syrups etc.
(ii) As power alcohols a mixture of 20% absolute alcohol and 80% petrol (gasoline) with benzene or tetralene (tetrahydronapthalene) as a co-solvent.
