Reactions of Both Aromatic Aldehydes and Ketones…
In general, reactions of both aromatic aldehydes and ketones are similar to those of aliphatic aldehydes and ketones are given below:
(i) Electrophilic substitution reaction due to benzene ring
(ii) Claisen-Schmidt reaction
(iii) Perkin condensation
(iv) Benzylic acid rearrangement.
