Tincture of iodine (solution of 2-3% iodine in alcohol-water mixture) is applied on wounds. (i) Amyl metacresol, an antiseptic used for mouthwash or gargles. (ii) Boric acid is a weak antiseptic for eyes. (iii) H2O2, salol (phenyl salicylate) and mercurochrome are used as antiseptics.
