Antranilic acid is a (C6H4—NH2COOH) white solid (m.p. 418 K) obtained by the reduction of o-nitrobenzoic acid. It is sweet in taste and soluble in water, alcohol and ether. It is used the manufacture of indigo, tin & methyl anthranitrates is used in perfumery.
