Balancing of Chemical Equations by Half reaction Method is carried out systematically
Balancing of Chemical Equations by Half reaction Method is carried out systematically in various steps outlined below:(1) Write the skeletal equation and identify the reductant and the Oxidant.
(2) Write half reactions separately for Oxidation and Reduction.
(3) Balance the half reactions with respect to atoms including O and H atoms as described in the previous method. Here, we also balance the charge and if necessary these be balanced by addition of electrons on Either side of equation for both the half reactions.
(4) Multiply the half reaction equations by appropriate coefficients, so that the number of electrons involved in both of the equation is same. Add the two equation and cancel the electrons and other common species on both sides.
