(1) Chloroform is prepared in the laboratory by heating Ethyl Alcohol or acetone with bleaching powder. CaOCl2 + H2O → Ca (OH)2 + Cl2
(2) Chloroform is manufactured by the Chlorination of Methane in the presence of diffused sunlight as CH4 + 3Cl2 → CHCl3 + 3HCL
