An eclipsed conformation is found in ethane, which is composed of two carbon atoms connected by a single bond. When the molecule is in the eclipsed conformation, the hydrogen atoms attached to each carbon atom are aligned with each other along the C-C bond axis, resulting in steric strain between the two sets of hydrogens.
