Examples of Nomenclature of Alkenes…

Examples of Nomenclature of Alkenes:
(i) The alkene with two carbon atoms in the parent chain and a double bond between them is called ethene (or sometimes ethylene).
(ii) The alkene with four carbon atoms in the parent chain, a double bond between the first and second carbons, and a methyl group attached to the third carbon is called 3-methylbutene-1.
(iii) The alkene with six carbon atoms in the parent chain, two double bonds between the first and second carbons and between the fourth and fifth carbons.
(iv) This alkene has five carbon atoms in the longest continuous chain, and the double bond is between the second and third carbons.
