Gas chromatography is a technique used for the separation and analysis of mixtures. Gas chromatography involves a column packed with either a solid station ary phase (gas-solid chromato-graphy or GSC) or solid coated with a non-valatille liquid (gas-liquid-chromatography GLC). The sample may be gaseous, liquid, solution or a solid in a suitable solvent (lik hexane, benzene etc) or solid itself which is appreciably volatile at the columnt temperature.
