Orientation Factor in Collision Theory…
The main postulates of this theory are as follows:
(i) For an effective collision, the reactant molecules must collide with sufficient energy and proper orientation.
(ii) For a reaction to occur, there must be collision between reactant molecules.
(iii) Not all collision leads to formation of product, only small fraction of total collision are effective in product formation.
(iv) For an effective collision, the colliding molecules must possess threshold energy.
