Physical Properties of carbolic acid:
(i) Phenols are colourless crystalline solids or liquids with carbolic odour.
(ii) The boiling point of phenols is higher than corresponding alcohols and arenes of compared masses due to the presence of intermolecular H-bonding.
(iii) Phenols possess high dipole moments.
