He advices the Governor. He can ask for the resignation of any minister. His own resignation brings down fall of the whole council of ministers. Presides over the meetings of the council of Ministers and influences its decisions. He advises the governor with regards to the appointment of important officials like Advocate General, The chairman and members of the state public service commission, the state election commissions etc. He announces Governments policies on the floor of the House.
