Rules for Determining the Number of Significant Figure – To determine the number of significant figures in a number use the following many rules:
(i) Zeroes between non-zero digits are significant.
(ii) Any zeros between two significant digits are significant
(iii) A final zero or trailing zeros in the decimal portion ONLY are significant
(iv) Zeroes to the right of the decimal point are significant.
