Sulphonation in Alkanes…
Sulfonation is a chemical reaction in which a sulfonic acid (-SO3H) group is introduced into an organic compound, such as an alkane. Alkanes are generally unreactive towards sulfonation due to their non-polar nature and strong carbon-carbon and carbon-hydrogen bonds.
