Temperature

A process is called Adiabatic, if the system does not exchange heat with the surroundings. An Adiabatic process may involve increase or decrease in Temperature of the System.

Critical Pressure is the minimum pressure required to liquefy the gas at the critical temperature and pressure.

Effect of Temperature…

Enthalpy of Sublimation is the Enthalpy change that accompanies the conversion of 1 Mole of a Solid directly into its gaseous state at a Temperature below its melting point.

Entropy of Fusion of a substance takes place at a definite Temperature (Melting Point) and is accompanied by absorption of heat (Enthalpy of Fusion).

Graham’s Law of Diffusion is that under similar conditions of temperature and pressure the rate of gases are inversely proportional to the square roots of their densities of molar masses.

Isothermal is a process, if the Temperature of the System remains constant during the change.

Law of Boyle is that it states that the pressure of a given mass of gas at constant temperature is inversely proportional to its volume.

Law of Charles is that the volume of a given mass of a gas at constant pressure is directly proportional to its kelvin (K) temperature.

Law of Temperature or Thermal equilibrium is also known as the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamic.

Measurement of Temperature – Temperature is measured with the help of thermometer.

Reversible is a direction may be reversed at any stage by merely a small change in variables like Temperature pressure, etc.

Temperature – The measure of the hotness or coldness of an object with reference to some standard value is called temperature.

Temperature is measured by Celsius thermometer and it measures hotness or coldness of body. SI unit of temperature is kelvin (K).

Temperature, Pressure, Viscosity, etc. is example of Intensive Properties.

The basic SI unit of Temperature is Kelvin (K). One Kelvin is 1/273.16 of the triple point Temperature of water (273.16K). This scale is called Thermodynamic Temperature Scale.

The Temperature at which the real gas exhibits ideal behavior for considerable range of pressure.

The Zeroth Law can be summarized in following ways: Two object of different Temperature in thermal contact with each other tend to move towards the same Temperature. Two object in Thermal Equilibrium with the third one, are in Thermal Equilibrium with each other. The Law of Thermodynamics helps us in predicting whether any given Chemical reaction can occur under given conditions of Temperature, pressure and concentration.
