The Properties of Phosphorus:
(i) Pure P is white however, it attains yellow colour on exposure to light.
(ii) It is transparent, colourless, semitransparent, soft, waxy solid.
(iii) It is found in nature in several allotropic forms, and is an essential element.
(iv) Phosphorus (P), a nonmetallic chemical element of the nitrogen family, glows in the dark.
(v) It smells like garlic and is poisonous.
