Uses of Carboxylic Acids: (i) Formic acid is used in leather tanning, textile dyeing and finishing. (ii) Acetic acid is used in the manufacture of rayon and in plastics, rubber and silk industries and in cooking. (iii) Benzoic acid and it salts are used as urinary antiseptics.
