Question
What is Hook’s Law?
Answer
Hook's Law is: (1) A system when deformed , is subject to a restoring force, the magnitude of which is proportional to the deformation or the displacement and acts in opposite direction. (2) For small deformations the stress and strain are proportional to each other. Thus, stress ∝ strain stress = k × strain Where k is proportionality constant and is known as Modulus of Elasticity. Hook's Law is an Empirical Law and is found to be valid for most materials. However, there are some materials which do not exhibits this liner relationship.Subscribe to our youtube channel!
