What is Lucas Test?

The equimolar mixture of anhy. ZnCl₂ and conc.HCl is called Lucas test. When alcohols are treated with it, Primary alcohol → No turbidity at room temperature Secondary alcohol → Turbidity after 5 min Tertiary alcohol → Immediate turbid solution
