The Uses of Ammonia - (i) Ammonia is a colorless, highly irritating gas with a pungent, suffocating odor. (ii) Ammonia has a strong tendency to donate its lone pair of electrons to other molecules and thus acts as a strong Lewis base. (iii) It react with Nessler's reagent Alkaline (K2HgI4), (iv) Ammonia is used in refrigeration due to large heat of evaporation and in the manufacture of HNO3.
